Hi Sasha! Thank you for inquiring about our TV Cabinet! The Corona 2 Door 1 Shelf Flat Screen TV Unit in Distressed Waxed Pine can still be assembled without the shelf. However, we wouldn't recommend this, as there are pre-drilled holes in the division panels where the shelf would typically be placed, which may be visible and affect the overall appearance.
