Hi Margaret! We appreciate your interest in our dining furniture. In response to your question, the Oxford Extending Dining Table extends through a butterfly extension system which its middle part comes out expanding the table's length upto an additional 30cm and stores inside the table when not needed. The over-all measurement of the table is W105cm x D80cm x H75.5cm when its closed and W135cm x D80cm x H75.5cm when extended. The table top is made from solid rubber wood and the legs and frame are made with MDF.

I'm afraid this is a bit short for 6 chairs. The average size of the table that would fit 6 chairs is 5ft and the

Oxford Extending Dining Set - Grey / Natual Oak measures only 4.42ft when it's extended. You might want to check the Astoria Extending Oak Dining Set - 6 Chairs.
